The RAID volume on the Synology RackStation can be expanded directly without having to reformat the existing drives, ensuring the Synology RackStation continues its service during the capacity expansion. Synology RX1217RP can be used as a dedicated local backup solution for the Synology RackStation. When created as a separate volumeRX1217RP provides a great backup solution to its local drives in case of system failure.

To ensures 24/7 service uptime, Synology RX1217RP is equipped with redundant power supply units, allowing automatic fail-over support, if one of the PSUs is failed.
